Brutal attack on RTI Activist; Culprit arrested

Today renowned RTI activist of the state Soochanashree Rabindra Nath Nayak is injured in brutal attack by a PDS dealer. Konark Police has lodged a case 36/2010 ,341,323,294,506 IPC & arrested the culprit. Rabindra Nath Nayak is an active RTI activist,has used RTI for several public causes. His activism is also found effective in different public authorities. 2 PIOs are penalized Rs 25000/- each by OIC in his complaint. One PDS dealer was threatening him since last some weeks as Mr Nayak had used RTI to know the info regarding PDS of his village. Today morning the PDS dealer Gyanendra Mohanty attacked Mr Nayak, is severely injured & now under treatment. Konark Police has arrested the culprit. (Report-26/04/2010)
